To be able to use a touchscreen properly the screen needs to be set at exactly the right position for the individual. Most touchscreen kiosks are not adjustable making them difficult for adults of different heights, children and many disabled people to use.
Our accesspods (also known as accesskiosks) have a unique one-touch 'tilt and lift' feature so that the optimum height and viewing angle can be set for the individual using it.
Good to look at, safe and friendly to use
We are involving lots of different people in developing our accesspods because we want to design highly advanced technical products that appeal to everyone and can even encourage those who might be shy of technology to 'have a go'. All age groups responded really well to the curved shape and cheerful colours, plus we added in a cool silver to offer a more corporate look. Comments have included "smiley", "happy", "makes you want to touch it" We also made sure that it has rounded edges and smooth surfaces so that they are safe for children to use or play around.
We thought it was really important to design a touchscreen kiosk that could be used all day long by anyone so that you can make the most out of one accesspod. The 'tilt and lift' feature allows for information or children's entertainment to be delivered through one accesspod. For example an accesspod in a Children's Centre could display lunchtime menus, for parents to see when they can drop their children off, information for health visitors in the morning and be lowered to provide touch screen entertainment for children in the afternoon.

What kind of information can be displayed on an accesspod?
The accesspod can display restricted access to nominated websites. We will provide a ‘Welcome page’ as part of our standard package and advise you on which websites to display.
Here are some examples of ‘Welcome pages’ for different audiences:
